Special purpose vehicles
Occasionally two or more companies get along so well that they decide to formalise their cooperation. A common form for such a cooperation is the joint venture. It is often experienced as desirable to share a joint name to operate together in competition with others. Some forms of cooperation have been formalised in the simplest way by the signing of a letter of intent. In practice we have also experienced companies investing in another on by buying shares (with a symbolic or a strategic purpose).
Global Habitat has seen informal cooperation’s transform into formal cooperation. Because of European regulations on international competition we expect that strategic alliances will appear more often in the future. Regarding tenders for national work we expect more severe competition in future years. Strategic international alliances will pave the way to competitive advantages. National operations will (by such strategic alliances) be strengthened with international competitiveness and financial power.
